The research tool does the work for you, all you need to do is select the categorys that fit the creature you have in mind.
The categories are: Size, Type, Diet, Temperament & Utility. For Type, make sure you select Rideable & Non-ridable options respectively.
You must select all that apply for the creature you want to unlock.
As you can see from the picture above, I have selected all that apply to the Direwolf and the Research Tool has given me a total of 34 points: Requires 10 research notes.
at this point i will need to go back to my game, craft a note and write the title of my research on it.
I have named this "0000 Direwolf Research - Logan"
Now we submit our research on the website by clicking the "Sumbit Research" button on the Research Tool.
As you can see above, I have titled my research submission the exact same as my note in game. The reason for this is In character we are treating it as though the content posted on the website was written on the note,
This is because it would take you a very long time to type with an Xbox pad on an in-game note.
As you can see above, I posted my research note, this constitutes 1 of the 10 required to unlock the creature.
Why do we need an in-game note if we post on the website?
To learn to content of any written research in character, you must have the note in-game. Anybody can read the research at anytime on the website, but to learn it IC, you MUST have the note.
This not only adds value to the note, but protects the player who created the content. If that player wanted, they could make copies to sell, or trade the original note.
How can we use the note to unlock the creature?
You can take your note and sell it to your nearest Archivist, Once the Archivist has enough notes to unlock a creature, they will arrange in IC meeting to ensure the knowledge is distrubuted amongst the people of Adaesu.
Once this is complete, the creature will be unlocked.
