The Great Library has an announcement for one and all.
As you may be aware the Research System has been subject to alterations since its inception. Recently we have decided to overhaul the old system for a more thoughtful, clearer, and concise system that will prevent confusion and hopefully encourage you all to research the creatures of this world.
We have painstakingly added in a Tiered System to research. This includes the exclusion many creatures that either; 1. Will negatively affect the roleplay, 2. Will negatively affect the server performance, or 3. The cons of inclusion outweigh the pros. The list of creatures that are available to be researched and unlocked are now tier based, as such similar, smaller creatures will need to be researched and unlocked before allowing progression to larger creatures. There are currently 5 tiers; Mammalian, Feathersaur, (In)Vertebrates, Tetrapoda, and Herbisaurus. Each tier shall be released after this announcement.
All tiers may be subject to change, at the discretion of us Archivists. However, if you believe that a creature should be unlockable you may bring this to our attention in the #Ask-An-Archivist chat. To appeal a decision we have made, you must provide both sufficient support from the player base and adequate roleplay reasoning to include the creature.
Additionally, another announcement shall be released soon that will cover Research Notes – what are we looking for, how they should be formatted, how they are marked, and further rules that will be added.
I thank you all for your attention and patience. We are trying to better your experience here and help the roleplay of Stormont thrive. I would also like to say a huge thank you to all of you who are utilising the research system.
From your Archivist team,
Wanda, Deckard, and Alanon.
